dog and cat

This is a picture of a verry adorable dog and cat.  I am officially naming the dog Hershey, and the cat Snickers!  anywayz, typically, cats and dogs don’t get along, as seen on cartoons of the 20th century.  But, cats and dogs can get along, for they have more in common, then they don’t have in common.  I think that this represents people.  Even though, we might look different, and we can do different things, and we eat different foods, we’re all still human.  Many of our aspirations, fears, and loves are the same.  In To Kill a Mockingbird, the racism is so pointless.  I bet that if T. Rob had a simple conversation with half the people in the jury, color of skin put aside, they’ll find out that they have more in common than they think, maybe even grow fond of each other…

auk sorry my internet been down. Ok so they shot tim r seventeen times. thats ridicules i can understand 1 shot but 17 that cruelty. it not right thats for sure

Throughout the trial, Atticus’ arguments made the reader believe he was going to do something spectacular and win the jury’s decision. But it wasn’t enough to save Tom Robinson. He was sentenced to prison. In an attempt to escape, Tom was shot seventeen times – overkill for any person. It was obvious the guards really wanted him dead, otherwise they’d just shot him once to stop him, then put him back in his cell or wait to execute him later (if they were that mean). Falsely accused, then sent to jail and killed because he was black…That’s quite a bit of racism involved. If we had the equal rights and treatment that we have now back then, this kind of thing would never happen.

ending

ok people sorry about not posting my internet was down this weekend and all last week and the week before et..Wow the definitely didn’t end the way i expected it to. Night of Halloween was very interesting to me. Scout freaked at first. but then she calmed down after being explianed about what happeneed to Jem. It was intersting how attucis took the news. Sorry for my  bad grammer i’m tired.

okay, i have to admit that the story made me think that Tom Robinson’s verdict would have been not guilty, but it wasn’t!  oh my gosh, where do i begin?  okay, first of all, why would they lead us on, making the trial so long, having us think that he’s going to get let off the hook for something he didn’t do, when all they did was give him the verdict that they were going to give him all along?  (well, i know why, but still).  I mean, if they weren’t going to give him the benefit of the doubt, they should have ended this a longg time ago!  Did they continue the trial for a long time just to cause more chaos within Maycomb?  Gosh, they suck.  And then, on top of that,  T-Rob tries to escape from a prison, where he wasn’t sposed to end up in the first place, and they probably didn’t treat him right there, they killed him by shooting him 17 times!  Was that even neccessary?  I mean, by the first shot, he was probably too wounded to proceed, so they could’ve just taken him back.  And by the second or third shot he was probably already dead, but no, they just had to keep shooting him for fun probably.  Can these people use some intelligence and think about the word RACISM for one second, were they that STUPID to realize that it wasn’t right?  I guess so.

This blog was sooo hard for me to type because I had to keep my language G-rated.  I can’t believe i’m getting sooo upset over a make-believe story.  Harper Lee’s good.

ch17-20

May 20, 2009

click here for sound the song is kinda lonley and it fits the girl in ch 17-20

Tom Robinson, Atticus’ client, is accused of raping a young 19 year old girl, Mayella Ewell. Mayella is Bob Ewell’s daughter and states the Tom raped her, but Atticus believes she is lying in favor of Mr. Ewell. Mayella had bruises on the right side of her body, which seems only natural to be caused by hits with someone’s left hand. Tom Robinson had no left hand – it was cut off during his work at a cotton gin. However, Bob Ewell was left handed. It was apparent that Mayella had wanted Tom to kiss her when Bob came home so Tom had to run away, then Mayella was beaten up by Mr. Ewell.

Bob Ewell must be a disgusting person to beat up his daughter and blame it on a random black man who comes to his home. He probably knew he would win the trial so he could toss another black person in jail.

only the lonely

This is a picture of a girl that’s lonely.  The two kids on the left are playing patty cake or something, and the girl on the right isn’t doing anything but standing far away from the them looking all lonely and pitiful.  I don’t know wether she’s choosing not to play with them for whatever reason, or if those two girls don’t want to play with her.  Whatever the reason is, i think that that little girt needs to stop looking all sad and feeling sorry for herself and find friends else where.  I mean, she’s kinda pretty, who wouldn’t want to be friends with her?  Unless she’s like wierd or something, then she can go find a pet rock, but that’s okay, too.

anyways, i think that the lonely girl represents Mayella, because the story talks about how the reason why she was accusing Robinson of raping her, is because she was ashamed for trying to  hook up with him, because she’s lonely.  I think it’s sad that people out there do feel this way, but they should just try their best to get it together, because what Mayella did caused all of this riot over nothing.

Tom Robinson’s trial is almost over.  Basically Atticus is on point with his evidence of the whole case.  He said that the prosecution has no medical evidence and that they’re testimony’s were weak and seemed unreliable.  The physical evidence on Mayella’s face are just the result of Bob Ewell, not Robinson, beating her up.  And then Atticus points out that Mayella, in her lonely, unhappy, and depressing state, lusted after Tom Robinson herself,  and then felt guilty and shameful because she got caught in the act, which is the reason why she accused him of rape.  Mayella knew that they would believe what looks to be an innocent white girl over a black man, so she stuck with the story and ran with it.

In conclusion, Atticus tells the jury, persistantly, to give Tom mercy and to deliver justice, and not just make assumptions on an unreliable source: because he’s black.  I think that maybe that might have came across to the judge and jury.  Hopefully, they aren’t as hard-headed as they can be.  This situation makes me wonder, how many times in the past did someone go to prison, on a crime they didn’t commit, because they’re colored.  How many times does this happen now?  I would like to think none, but deep down i know that’s not the case. :/

differentThis is a picture of a whole bunch of depressed looking blue frowny faces, and one yellow smiley face.  well, obviously.  lol. anyways i think that situations like this will keep happening because the world is not unanimous.  in the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, i think that the yellow smiley face represents Atticus, and the blue frowny faces represent everyone that’s against him for representing and defending Tom Robinson for something he didnt do because he’s black.  but then again, it all starts with one.  So that means that eventually the majority of those blue frowny faces will catch the yellow smiley face’s drift and will turn into yellow smiley faces as well.
